Industrial Coatings For Specific Needs:
Midwest Industrial Coatings offers several types of sprayed-on Industrial Coatings. The four main coatings offer, are three from Rhino Linings - TuffGrip™ (formerly TUFF STUFF®), HardLine™ (formerly Durabond®) and Hi-Chem™, and one from LIQUID BOOT®.
Rhino Industrial Linings
The Rhino Lining Coatings are two-component, 100% solids elastomeric polyurethane formulations provide excellent, long-lasting protection for a vast array of applications. Customized formulations are also available to meet specific project requirements. In addition, Rhino Linings offers an excellent 100% solids polyurethane etching primer, and UV Topcoats are available. Our flagship formulations provide specific product physical characteristics to satisfy different service requirements.
Rhino TuffGrip™
Rhino TuffGrip™ is the most versatile and most widely-used Rhino Linings formulation. It is used to protect vehicles, building materials, equipment, flooring, machine components, manufactured products, secondary containment, storage facilities, material processing components and countless other surfaces.

Rhino TuffGrip™ is the most flexible of our flagship formulations, maintaining its integrity under repeated flexing, regardless of film thickness. It has excellent impact, abrasion and corrosion resistance and provides the highest level of skid resistance, sound deadening and vibration absorption.
Rhino HardLine™
Rhino HardLine is slightly more rigid with higher cross-linking than Rhino Tuff Grip™ . Its surface is slightly less abrasion and skid resistant, but it provides a high level of corrosion resistance. Durabond has good chemical resistance and effectively reduces sound.
Rhino HardLine™ is an ideal coating for processing equipment and tanks requiring high hydrolytic stability. Rhino HardLine™ is also used as a protective coating system for storage and ballast tanks and other applications in which a seamless flexible system is essential. It is a very effective coating in food handling, food processing and commercial kitchens.
Rhino Hi-Chem™
Rhino Hi-Chem™ is the Rhino Linings formulation with the most chemical resistance. Although it has some flexibility, it is the most rigid formulation with the highest cross-linking. It is typically sprayed onto metal and concrete surfaces. The coating provides excellent corrosion resistance and will not deteriorate from chemical attack.
Typical applications include wastewater manholes, pipelines, wet wells and treatment tanks. Rhino Hi-Chem™ is especially useful in protecting concrete surfaces suffering from the effects of sulfide-based gases found in raw sewage transmission and waste treatment plants.
Primer 251
Primer 251 is a two-component, 100% solids polyurethane adhesive used to prepare surfaces for the application of Rhino Linings. It can be used on steel, galvanized metal, tin, aluminum, wood, fiberglass, polyurethane and some plastic surfaces. Primer 251 has high resistance to acids and hydrolysis and has excellent results in salt spray, water immersion and hot air tests. It may be applied with a brush, roller or spray equipment.
LIQUIDBOOT®
LIQUIDBOOT® is a sprayed-on coating that can be used on new or existing construction to create a safe, monolithic vapor barrier that provides a safe, long-term protection against methane, radon and carbon dioxide.
Over 50 million square feet of LIQUIDBOOT® has been installed under Hospitals, Schools, Libraries, High-rise Commercial and Residential Buildings, Single Family Housing Developments, and Major Public Works Projects throughout the United States.
LIQUIDBOOT® is also a superior advanced monolithic roofing system that will encapsulate and protect the Building Owner’s Investment. LIQUIDBOOT® is a high performance roofing product that eliminates or reduces the need to remove the old substrate, which can save up to half of the labor cost of installation.
